Holly Tree Fish and Chips, Blackburn is one of the few surviving ‘takeaway chip shops’ in Lancashire which restrict their menu options to the traditional British ‘chippy’ range. This means we can fully concentrate on striving to produce an excellent quality fish and chip menu.

Formerly known as The Fish and Chip Bar, the shop has been trading for over 40 years.   We (Michael and Julie Rose) took over the business in February 2005. We know the area well .... we were both brought up within a mile or so of the shop!

Our aim has always been to source the best possible ingredients and to fry using traditional methods to make sure we provide the very best fish and chips in the area. We are passionate about the quality of our fish and chips.

We seek to employ only people who are ‘comfortable and confident with people’! We are very proud of all our team ..... their efforts help us so much in achieving our aim!

We concentrate on the quality of our ingredients and the standards of our suppliers to bring you food of only the highest quality!

We sell fresh fish delivered from Fleetwood daily. Primarily, we offer Haddock but also try to have Cod and Silver Hake available for customers preferences.

All our fresh wet fish is bought from boats that only fish in areas that are managed in a sustainable environment and which fish within agreed quotas. We fry our fish, coated in our hand made crispy light batter, in a unique blend of vegetable oils which enhances the taste thanks to it’s odour of beef dripping.

We only use the best available British potatoes - all of our potatoes are prepared on site because we believe this gives our customers the freshest product possible. We mainly use Maris Piper but sometimes opt for Markies or Victoria varieties if that helps ensure we bring you the best possible quality chips.

Supporting local businesses is important to us, so you’ll see that our menu is primarily comprised of Lancashire products and ingredients. We give a wide choice of local pies and puddings from established bakers like Hollands of Baxenden but also from smaller bakeries like Cissy Green’s of Haslingden and Clayton Park of Accrington.

We are proud sponsors of Feniscowles and Pleasington Football Club, 2008 player sponsor of Blackburn Rovers Roque Santa Cruz and sponsor of new signing Nikola Kalinic for the 2009/2010 season and also sponsored David Bentley in 2013. We also support Cancer Research UK in our shop.

To prepare and serve the best Fish and Chips in the area, using the freshest available fish, the best quality potatoes - all sourced, whenever possible, from local, Lancashire suppliers.

We will recruit and train our team to provide the best levels of customer service and hygiene, helping ensure that every customer served is consistently pleased and satisfied with their visits to Holly Tree Fish and Chips.
